Reasons to Pack Your Lunch

Have I told you how I love my lunch box? It has become a fashion accessory! Now you may think I am crazy but everyday I work in the office or I am running errands out of town, my lunch box is packed. One reason I save time and the second is it is much cheaper! By doing simple preparation the night before you can have a ready-to-go lunch.

1.  Your Health!
Forgoing fast food and packing lunch allows you to pack fresh veggies and fruits, adding lots of nutrients to your diet that your body needs.
Plus a colorful lunch can look way more exciting, appealing, and satisfying.

2. Keeps you fuller longer.
Lean protein and fiber keep us more full throughout the day. Typically restaurant meals are extremely low in these two things. So packing lunch is an easy way to increase fiber and lean protein to keep you feeling fuller for longer throughout the day.

3.  Use up those leftovers!
This way you don’t have to prepare a separate meal for lunch the next day. Packing lunches with leftovers is a great way to save time and get creative by reinventing the original recipe. In addition, you don’t waste food.

4. Portion Sizes.
When eating out you have little control over the serving sizes and what we are served we typically eat!  When packing your own meal, you can pack sensible sized portions to avoid overeating.

5. Saving Money!
Preparing food at home to bring for lunches during the work or school day is much cheaper than purchasing a meal at a restaurant every day.

It’s important to keep in mind that bringing a lunch from home can still be full of foods you love and enjoy, but still healthy!
