Influence the People you Love!

As we begin to learn the ins and outs of a healthy lifestyle, we are given the tools to influence others as well! Specifically we have the opportunity to inspire and encourage the kids in our lives to pursue healthy living and make good choices. Influencing others is one of the actions we strive to incorporate on a daily basis. So let’s start influencing with these ideas!

Get them involved in grocery shopping.

-Let them pick out fruits or veggie they want to try.

-Have a scavenger hunt and give them a list of colors and have them find a fruit or vegetable for each color.

Include them while preparing meals.

-Most kids love to be hands on and don’t mind making a mess. Have them wash fruits and veggies at the sink or stir together the ingredients.

Make food fun!

-Cut fruits and veggies into cool shapes or put together fun combinations. Examples: (Ants on a log, melon balls, etc.)

Work together to make new healthy food creations.

-Put all sorts of healthy foods on the kitchen counter and see what you can make!

When you involve kids in cooking, grocery shopping, etc., you’re able to build stronger relationships and have an opportunity to expose them at an early time in their lives to a healthy lifestyle.  You can make a difference and help them establish healthy habits that can last!  Get creative and have fun!
