So it is a little over a week till Father’s Day and guess what….I am hosting! We have a lake home that is near and very peaceful. So when our family gets together and stress comes along for the ride, the lake is a wonderful place to gather and relax!
As the host, I need to get everything all planned-organized-etc. especially since we have extra family coming in town from Alaska. I do not want to be stuck in the kitchen while they are here! So here is what I do:
- I write all the food we will serve.
- I create a grocery list divided by the store departments.
- I schedule a time to go and not have to rush so I don’t forget anything.
- Before I drive to the store I get on their website for coupons!
Since our family eats a lot of fresh food the bill for a gathering can get pretty pricey…but no need to fear grocery stores provide coupons for even fresh vegetables and meat! All you have to do is look ahead. So start looking ahead on your calendar to see when you need to start organizing the family gathering. What do you need to do to plan ahead for Father’s Day?
Next week, I will have plenty of pictures of all that I served–I am planning a gourmet hamburger bar since it is my Dad’s favorite thing to order in a fancy restaurant!
